    Good evening,

my name is Mathias and I’m from Germany. A couple of years ago I found Tractor Time with Tim on YouTube and been watching ever sins.

    2021 I bought a Kubota L1382.

The tractor is mainly used for maintenance work around my property.

I own 6ha of land in the western part of Germany. Mainly it’s meadow land, on the outer edge there is a small forest.

In autumn my wife and I use the tractor in the forest to help with the firewood.

Throughout the year we have a large garden, similar to the one Tim uses for planting corn.

Our next project will be the planting of an appleorchard. Hopefully we can start in October. In Germany it is really hard to do changes in the use of one’s own property without the permission of the local government. So we shall see if it works out.

As for tractor attachments I have a pallet fork, a med size bucket, a rotor tiller and a flail mower. Next up hopefully will be a grapple though they are kind of hard to get in Europe.

I’m really looking forward inparticipating in the forum and excited to get to know you guys.

    Have a nice evening 🙂

    Greetings

    Mathias

    Hi Mathias,

Well, I will start off by asking about your tractor. It may be a model not available in the US. In the photo I notice the loader appears to be a different color and looks heavily built. Is that an aftermarket loader that was added on later vs a Kubota brand loader? Is it an extra heavy duty unit? If you added on yourself was that a big project?

Do you get much snow in your location that you need to clear with the tractor?

      Hello Jac,

Kubota seems to name their tractors different in different countries.

I would guess that my tractor is similar to the standard L series you guys in the US have. The tractor has 38hp so that would fit. The only thing that seems different is a slightly larger frame that my tractor has.

The loader is made by the company Mailleux (France). It is a heavy duty self leveling loader. In Germany you can choose this loader when configuring the tractor. It has a higher load capacity then the one Kubota offers (1200lbs).

The loader consoles fit to the tractor frame without any changes, so it seems to be easy work to add one to the tractor.

As for snow we usually have a week or so every year. Nothing compared to what I see on Tim’s videos.

      Greetings

Welcome. I like that Kirby decal. That’s interesting that you have to get government approval to plant your orchard. Do y’all have to deal with all the emissions rules like we do?

      Thanks Beast master,

did the decal for my wife. Because

she said the tractor reminded her of Kirby.

Yes in Germany you can’t do anything on your own property without permission. Well at least when it comes to a different usage or building stuff on it. There is a certain EU law that sets meadows under a specia environmental safety status. So if you want to change the use of the meadow, you have to offer a different property in the same size to compensate. That makes it quite hard to sustainably maintain your land.

And yes we also have similar law restrictions that force us to use AdBlue for lowering nitrogen oxide and other emissions.
